PDN Magazine Interview and Contest Winner

April 9th, 2012

Every year, PDN (Photo District News) Magazine has a contest called the Top Knots, judging photos from the various parts of weddings submitted by tons of photographers. This year, I was so excited and honored to get First Place in the Reception Category!!

And an even bigger honor, I was interviewed by the magazine about shooting both commercial work (fashion photography or music photography) and wedding work. Here's a link to that article if you want to read the whole thing or head over to PDNonline!

Jamie + Jabdiel :: A Romantic Beach Wedding

4
April 3rd, 2012

Jamie and Jabdiel were guests at another wedding I was photographing the year before and while talking, we immediately clicked. Similar passions, and they were just the sweetest couple. They hired me for their wedding soon after and are people I hope to continue to remain friends with. For their engagement shoot, I spent the day with them doing things they love. You can check that out HERE. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of their wedding and document their celebrations and love.

The decor and details of the wedding put together by Lisa Vorce and her awesome team at Oh How Charming, were stunning. And teamed up with R. Jack Balthazar for the florals was a perfect match. So many unique aspects of this wedding that I absolutely loved!

And Here's a beautiful film by Joel Serrato:

Angela + Jon :: A St Regis Wedding Prt 2

0
March 21st, 2012

Angela is an event coordinator herself with her company, Sterling Social. I asked her how it was planning her own wedding. She responded, "My own wedding was one of the most exciting projects I have ever worked on.  It was my opportunity to do what I love for the people I love.  I work with the most brilliant, creative people on a daily basis and we had so much fun designing this wedding.  The design was really inspired by texture.  I wanted to bring to life a neutral color palette through the use of interesting textural elements such as mica wallpaper, mercury glass, and cut crystal.  The overall look and feel was soft and romantic.  It was magical to watch the elements tie together throughout the planning process"

Reflections from Angela, "Experiencing what it's like to be a bride is incredible.  You feel an overwhelming amount of love from your friends and family.  I have to say though, one of my favorite things about our wedding was the energy!  It was insane!  The only time we sat down that night was for speeches.  Otherwise, we were dancing our hearts out on a packed dance floor surrounded by our favorite people in the entire world.  I've never had so much fun in my life." - I think that's how a wedding should be! And it was a blast to photograph too.
