New York in the Snow and Some Ramblings

March 6th, 2012

I'm going to start off with an apology for my lack of blogging lately. It's definitley not for a lack of content, I've just been crazy busy with different photo jobs, weddings, engagement shoots and travel for all of the above. I do have some good stuff backlogged for the blog and I hope you haven't lost interest in my blog!

While out in NYC for the last engagement shoot up on my blog, I like to take a day walking around shooting photos. It was the first time I've been in New York while it was snowing. Central Park was stunning, I loved the streets, the buildings, and the cars in the snow (coming from a sunny California boy). I hope you enjoy these photos like I do. Do you like the black and white or color shots? Would love to know people's opinions. Any photos stand out to you? Why? Thanks for the input!!

Can't wait for more blog posts! Love these photos--classic BW are always beautiful, definitely gave it a different vibe, almost eerie and old time. Love the store front photos with the bikes and the little bar photo too, just feels very NY (coming from those who've never been :)

I love the soft, muted colors of the second shot and the others in Central Park.

New York in the Snow

I've been out to New York pretty frequently the last few years but rarely catch it on a first snow. I walked around Central Park by myself for an hour or so (until my toes froze) and snapped a few photos on the way. I haven't seen them all yet but this one stood out to me.

New York City

When I travel to shoot weddings, or engagement shoots, I love to document areas surrounding these events. Usually it is a hometown, or a favorite place for couples and I try to capture the surroundings. NYC is definitely one of my favorite cities to walk around, people watch and photograph. On this trip, I ran across a friend who let me borrow her Hasselblad X-Pan; a camera I've been wanting to buy for a long time. Basically a 35mm panoramic camera that is awesome. I shot one roll on that camera and here are most of the pics and some others. I didn't edit one of these photos. Straight scans from Richard Photo Lab. What do you think of the panoramics?

Definitely digging the panoramics! One more toy you're gonna need :)

Really like that first shot and the one of the corner store. They'd make great prints.
