Holly + Ryan :: A Smog Shoppe Wedding
Posted on September 1, 2010
Weddings at the Smog Shoppe are some of my favorite. The venue has so much character that adds to every photo. Then when I get to shoot a good looking, elegant and fun couple, teamed up with one of the best coordinators in the biz – Angel from Love and Splendor, the wedding is going to be amazing! This is what happened with Ryan and Holly’s wedding. One of my favorite wedding blogs, Green Wedding Shoes has this wedding featured now and make sure to check it out to see more photos. I decided to put together a little different selection of photos.
For starters, Holly designed her own dress from the dress worn by her grandmother, then mother. It was such a unique wedding dress that fit her so perfectly.
Quote from Holly “My favorite memory of the day was when I was walking down the aisle, heart racing, and my dad whispered in my ear, “look at ryan.” As soon as I saw my husband to be I felt a clam peace rush over me.”
Another great thing about this wedding was that the Smog Shoppe had just opened their new ceremony area and this was the first wedding held there. So glad they now have this area. It is such a compliment to the reception site.
I absolutely love it when brides encourage their bridesmaids to all get different dresses and shoes. Pick a color or pick a tone and let the girls go with it. So stylish!
Angel did a spectacular job with taking Holly’s vision and bringing to life. The details were stellar.
Favorite Moment from Holly:
Towards the end f the night when I was tired from dancing, I grabbed my dad and some water and we sat one of the couches and watched the guests enjoying the wedding. It felt so good to relax and take in the party as if I were a guest.

Connie + Thomas :: Married at Rancho Las Lomas
Posted on August 20, 2010
Here is a wedding I’ve been waiting to blog for awhile! Rancho Las Lomas is an incredible venue in Orange County. It has white tigers, parrots, lamas, zebra, a variety of options for photos and makes for a beautiful wedding. Connie and Thomas’ wedding was beautiful. I actually met Connie while I was on a date with my wife in Laguna beach. We started chatting and it ended up that she still hadn’t found a photographer she liked. It was a fun coincidence.
Both Connie and Thomas had smiles on their faces all day. So fun to have met them and I was honored to photograph their wedding!

Ashley + Zeke ::: Married
Posted on August 2, 2010
I have been shooting a lot of weddings lately and there has been such a huge range in the variety and style of the weddings. From ranches in Santa Barbara, to hipster venues in LA, to the east coast, from funky, to elegant. I would classify Ashley and Zeke’s wedding as classy and elegant. Very fitting for the couple. Zeke and most of his groomsmen are serving in the military and were a fun bunch and Ashley with her bridesmaids were the sweetest. I loved being a part of their wedding!
There’s something I love about this first photo of Zeke. Shot with HP5, 35mm film.

Julie + Dan ::: Married at the Ritz
Posted on July 26, 2010
Julie and Dan were married at the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel and their wedding was spectacular. Everything was planned and designed by the fabulous Details Details team who are so fun to work with. I was able to spend some time with Julie and Dan in Baltimore shooting their engagement photos. They are a genuine and sincere couple who I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know. And how great was Julie’s wedding dress? Elegant and romantic.
Big thanks to my brother Pat for second shooting and changing film for me! Julie and Dan, congratulations. It was such an honor documenting your special day.

Ian + Emily
Posted on July 21, 2010
It is my absolute favorite thing to shoot couples who bring their own style to a shoot. This was definitely a collaboration of all of us and it came out so fun. Emily has actually styled several of my photo shoots and she brought all of their wardrobe. Their wedding is going to be an entire weekend of adventure and celebration that I get to be a part of and document. Some of my favorite photos of late. GreenWeddingShoes.com just did a feature of this shoot. You should check out that blog if you haven’t yet! I hope you enjoy this shoot as much as I do.

Annie and Peter are getting married later this summer and I’m so looking forward to their wedding. It’s so fun getting to know couples better during engagement shoots. I love these first few.

The next handful of photos are pretty similar but I thought they made for a nice series. Hope you like them:

Natalie + Eric ::: A San Francisco Wedding
Posted on July 8, 2010
If you haven’t visited City Hall in San Francisco, you need to make a trip. Gorgeous building in a great city. I was able to fly up and spend the afternoon with Natalie and Eric as they were married, surrounded by their immediate families. We then took the rest of the afternoon driving and walking around town shooting some portraits. Such a great couple and I had so much fun with them. Here’s what I captured that day.

Kaylee + Scott ::: Married in Dana Point
Posted on June 30, 2010
I’ve been so excited to post this wedding and I hope you all like it as much as I do. Kaylee and Scott are one of those couples that warm my heart. They are so fun, so sweet and genuine. Scott is an Aussie who came to college in the States where he met Kaylee, whose smile lights up the room. Take a peek and let me know what you think.
To start, I love that she wore Toms shoes under her wedding dress! If you don’t know about Toms, look up their website.
