Now here is an absolutely beautiful baby girl. Little piper is absolutely stunning with that dark head of hair. If you didn’t see it, make sure you check out the maternity session I shot of Rachelle and Michael before they had Piper. Such a fun couple and I was so honored to photograph them and their baby. Definitely girlfriend potential for little Declan!!

Declan’s 1st Birthday Party

Last week, we threw a 1st birthday party for Declan. At first, I was thinking birthday parties for kids that young were sort of pointless but as Lindsay and I were talking, we realized how it’s OK that the party is for us and our baby. Having a baby is an amazing thing and we get to celebrate with people in our lives and his, the first year of his life. Great reason to celebrate!
We had the absolute fortune of working with Society Picnic and they designed our whole house for his party. Declan spent most of his first year in either striped pajamas or striped shirts so we thought a striped theme would be appropriate. Ann and Sarah from Society Picnic ran with the idea and came up with some sheer brilliance. If you ever need a party of any sort planned…like bridal showers, baby showers, Bday parties…look them up!
Here’s what they came up with:
We had some tasty cupcakes and cake-pops from My Sweet and Saucy! So yummy!!
And here’s the birthday boy getting his first experience of eating cake. So funny. He was a little hesitant at first with a crowd of people around him.
Mom wanted to get in on the action. And the second shot, Declan would grab a handful of cake and hand it to Grandpa. He LOVES his grandparents!

Friends and Babies

It has been a crazy past couple of months traveling with weddings and I have a ton lined up to post. I wanted to share a couple of photos in the meantime though. In the midst of the craziness, getting together with friends is so important for me. And having a baby now, it is so fun when we’re able to get together with other couples that have kids the same age! Mark and Candice (who are awesome photographers) came over for an afternoon with their little guy, Wyatt and we walked down to the park to play. Wyatt is a couple of months younger than Declan and he’s so cute. Here they are:
I love that in this photo, it looks like the boys are having a big conversation on the swings. Just hanging out.

Friday’s Fotos ::: Family Time in Paso Robles

I have been traveling so much the past couple of months and when I’ve been home, I’ve had photo shoots of some sort three to four days a week. It’s all been incredible and great but a little tough on the quality family time. Poor Lindsay has been dealing with a very energetic baby most nights and weekends by herself. She’s a trooper and an incredible mom and I’m a lucky guy to have her and her patience with my schedule. Because of all that, we set up a little mid-week vacation up to the wine country of Paso Robles. Here is some of the film I got back from that trip.
The first photo is a special one I took because Lindsay love’s trees and I love clouds. It’s so beautiful in Paso Robles!

When I was out at SXSW, one of the Fuji reps was out hanging in the Spin Magazine loft shooting little ‘fujiroids’ with the Fuji Instax Mini. I decided to try one out and think I have a new love.
I spend most mornings with my son, Declan, to give mom a little break. We hang out and play for a bit then I give him breakfast. Here are a couple of these Fuji instax shots. Pretty cute if you ask me…but I’m biased.

Friends at a Young Age

Lindsay and I are loving that our good friends just had a baby. They’ve been our traveling buddies and everything is that much easier when we’re all at the same stages in life. So with little Clayton now around, Declan needed to be big brother for a bit. Look how cute this first one is!
