Kaylee and Scott ::: A Couple More
Posted on February 26, 2010
I was waiting on one more roll of film when I made the last post and just got impatient. I just scanned this last one in and had to do a second post. These shots are straight scans. I’ve done nothing to them and love them how they are. Hope you do too!

Jonsi
Posted on February 25, 2010
http://www.sigur-ros.co.uk/ has been a favorite band of mine for a long time. Their lead singer Jonsi has an album coming out soon and it sounds incredible so far. I had to post this new video because I think the song is so amazing. For his new concert tour, he has constructed a brilliant live/visual performance.
Here is the video to his new song, Go Do:

Kaylee + Scott :: Engaged!
Posted on February 23, 2010
Last weekend, I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with Kaylee and Scott, whose wedding I’m shooting in Late May. They are the sweetest couple and had such a good time getting to know them better. Scott is from Austrailia and Kaylee is from Arizona and their wedding will be in Orange County. I mixed it up on this shoot switching between film and digital and love everything that came out. We had a stunning location and Kaylee and Scott aren’t so hard to look at either!
Here they are:

So You Think You Can Dance
Posted on February 18, 2010
Earlier this week, I went up to LA with Roberto to shoot some photos for his dancing career. It was so fun. Down on one of the industrial streets we were shooting, a guy in his big Escalade saw what we were doing and started blasting his system for us. Gave Roberto some jams to dance to. Here are a bunch of my favorites.

Valentine’s Day
Posted on February 13, 2010
To all you Valentine’s out there, this is a post to talk about being a Valentine. I actually don’t know what that means so I’m making up a definition. You always hear “be my valentine” and I’ve thought of that person as the person receiving. Sure, that can be true (and hopefully is) but the way I’m defining ‘being a Valentine’ is the doing, the loving, and the intentionality. My wife Lindsay and I have made a big effort to be ‘intentional’ with each other…intentional in a way so I make a big effort to act in ways and do things so she feels loved. At the same time, she’s trying to do the same with me. Of course we’re not perfect in these areas but even the effort of trying to do this has made a big difference in our marriage. I feel confident that I love her more today than I did when we got married and even more than a couple of months ago. She’s my Valentine and I’m hers.
I want to share something with you that might sound corny but it has been really cool. Before going to bed each night we take a bit of time to tell the other person something we really loved or appreciated about them that day. Again, might sound corny BUT it’s done something powerful. There are a lot of things we appreciate about our spouses/girlfriends/boyfriends that they might not know we appreciate. Being able to let him or her know that you notice his or her efforts has brought us closer. How can you be a Valentine to someone you love in your life?
So this Valentine’s Day, be a Valentine. Here’s a photo of me and mine with ours.

Friday’s Foto ::: A Sunset in Santa Monica
Posted on February 12, 2010
It’s tricky as a photographer to have new content for blog posts on a very consistent basis. This time of year for a wedding photographer is when we’re booking a lot of our clients and is a bit slower in the actual shooting of weddings. I am SO excited for the weddings that I do have lined up for 2010 though. I will be photographing such fun, hip and sweet couples and will be working with some of my favorite coordinators and other vendors. With all of these weddings coming up, I’ve been trying to scout out different locations as I start shooting engagement sessions for couples. While up in LA, I shot this photo of the Santa Monica Pier at sunset. Hope you like it. Happy Friday to you all!

Friends at a Young Age
Posted on February 11, 2010
Lindsay and I are loving that our good friends just had a baby. They’ve been our traveling buddies and everything is that much easier when we’re all at the same stages in life. So with little Clayton now around, Declan needed to be big brother for a bit. Look how cute this first one is!
