I love that I get to document some of the most special and exciting times in people’s lives. In photographing weddings, family and friends come together to celebrate two people’s love for one another. Everyone is dressed up, everyone is happy,  and I get to capture all those special moments. Then there’s maternity photos. Having a new baby myself, I know how exciting this stage in life is and it is so fun to document. Here are a few from a very sweet couple!

Ashley + Zeke ::: Engaged!

Ashley and Zeke are a genuinely sweet couple. We spent the afternoon in Manhattan Beach last week on a day that started out drizzling. By the end of the shoot, we ended up with some gorgeous light. I love this first shot.

Laura + Ryan ::: Details & the Reception

I usually don’t share a ton of photos from receptions because my heart is really in creating fashionable portraits but I do love being a part of receptions. Most all couples who hire me are so fun and I have a blast photographing their receptions. The details for this particular wedding were absolutely spectacular. On top of looking like a good, rustic wedding, their reception was a great party. Tricia Fountaine is the one to thank for taking Laura’s vision and creating this beautiful reception. Maternity Photos on Polaroid

I had a fun shoot today for Sarah and Kieth who are due to have their little boy soon! I wanted to give a small peek at the shoot from what I shot on my old Polaroid camera. I had practically considered this camera decoration after Polaroid went out of business but recently found some sites selling older Polaroid film. I love how these came out. Do you like the look?? What are your thoughts on Polaroids?

Laura + Ryan ::: Rainy Day Wedding in Santa Barbara

Like I said earlier, this was one of my favorite weddings of the year. What could have been a disaster (the pouring rain on a wedding day), ended up working out perfect. I loved the attitude of Laura in-particular. For a bride, many dream of this day their whole lives and rain could be the worst thing in the world. For Laura, she embraced the rain, was laughing and radiant in the storms.

My brother Patrick was my second shooter for the day and was set up with an all-star team. The details and flowers were done by the fabulous Tricia Fountaine, the Event was Dos Pueblos Ranch in Santa Barbara (you can find info on Tricia’s site), the great desert bar was put together by Enjoy Cupcakes and the day of coordination was done by Ashley at Toast Santa Barbara.
