I’m a big music fan and used to shoot a lot of bands for magazines. Being that I was up in LA sometimes 3 times per week seeing and hearing a lot of music some bands stood out and some bands were just a bore. Matt & Kim is one of those bands that rises to the top and puts on such a fun show. I found this video of their song “Daylight” they performed on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show on Pitchfork’s website. Love it and worth a watch:
Greg and Vivan ::: Their Napa Wedding Slideshow

Here’s the slideshow from Greg and Vivan’s Napa Wedding! I truly loved this whole day of shooting. Everything went smooth, the day was perfect, Greg and Vivan were the best and the details to photograph were in abundance. Napa is such a special place and then to be able have your wedding there on your parent’s vinyard is incredible. When I walked into their upstairs barn, where the dancing was to be held, I just about died. I love the rustic feel, the high ceilings and wood floors. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I did!

Greg and Vivan ::: A Napa Wedding

I have been so anxious to post these photos since Greg and Vivan’s amazing wedding in Napa and have been slower than usual with our new baby. This is the wedding, where right as it ended, I got the phone call learning that my wife’s water had broken. SOOO glad it wasn’t mid wedding.
So back to Greg and Vivan. Their wedding day was so special. I always tell people I like photographing weddings because each couple is so unique and their weddings reflect them. I really feel this was the case with Greg and Vivan. The wedding itself was held on Greg’s parent’s vinyard in Napa and every last detail was spectacular. Thanks to my good friend Brett Hillyard who joined me to shoot for the day.

Greg is a really good photographer himself and at one point had his own dark room in his garage to develop film. In honor of that, I thought I’d post some of my film shots from the day. All of these black and white photos were shot on my Mamiya. I wish I had a darkroom in my garage.
And this is probably one of my favorite shots of the day!
Their first dance had the most beautiful light of the day. LOVE this one!

Leah and Chris Cabo Wedding ::: The Slideshow

It took me a little longer than usual to get this slideshow up with the new baby, but here it is! This wedding at the One and Only Palmilla in Cabo San Lucas was spectacular. Such vibrant colors, great details and and amazingly fun group of people. The reception was a riot! Probably the BEST get the garter and garter toss I have seen!! I was dying laughing. It started with every single guy dancing around Leah where she eventually got up on a chair and was dancing in the middle of all the guys. It was incredible. Congrats Leah and Chris and can’t wait to see you guys again out in NY.

Declan Cade Flynn

My wife went into labor Saturday night at 12:30am and I got the call as I was finishing up a wedding in Napa. The airports were closed and I was a 9hr drive away. I almost borrowed a car but figured that would be too dangerous after realizing how tired I already was. I ended up catching an early flight and making it to the birth in time. Lindsay was in labor for 17 hours!! One of the most amazing, incredible experiences I’ve been through. Straight after the birth, the doctor put baby Declan right on mom’s chest. Lindsay and I caught eyes and at the same time, tears started flowing. Such a special moment. We’re finally home and I now have internet to post. I know Lindsay’s family back in Colorado is dying to see some of these shots.
I literally started crying as I went back through these photos. He is so stinking cute!!!
I shot this photo this morning. He just got done feeding and was sitting up leaning into my hand with his little arms around my wrist. It was the sweetest moment and had to snap a photo!
I love this shot. This was as the nurse measured Declan’s length. He was exactly 20 inches!
Our friend Andrea grabbed my camera and snapped some great photos of the actual delivery since I was an active participant. This was the moment Declan was first put on Mom’s chest and I shot a few on film with my Mamiya.
This was literally straight from birth, then mom’s chest to get wiped down and weighed. It already feels like he’s changed so much.
And a shot with Declan and my two brothers!! LOVE this one.

Leah & Chris ::: Married in Los Cabos

I’m going to start off saying how much I love weekend long destination weddings. Not only do I have so much fun with the bride and groom but I end up coming home with so many new friends. This was definitely the case with Leah and Chris with their amazing wedding at the One and Only Palmilla Resort in Cabo San Lucas. EVERYTHING about this wedding was put together well. The bride was stunning, the bridesmaids with fashionable and colorful dresses, the details were stunning and the reception, magnificent. Mark Brooke joined me for the weekend and was so fun to shoot with! Thanks for all the help Mark.
A few of the getting ready details! The shoes were Manolo Blahniks and the dress was a custom Rivini
The Palmilla has this beautiful old chapel on the top of a hill. Smaller weddings generally fit inside but out in front was so perfect for this wedding.
I love the water in Cabo!!
